Connecting With Our Neighbours: European initiatives in York

York has been twinned with the city of Dijon, France, since 1952 and with Münster, Germany, since 1957. Both partnerships are thriving and offer new perspectives and opportunities to those brave enough to explore, whether in real life or online.

Join us to hear from York residents who are connecting with like-minded people in Münster over a shared interest, be it cycling or singing, books or football. Hear about the York cyclists’ visit to Münster in 2022 and their thought-provoking tour of the city’s cycle infrastructure, and the Münster cyclists’ ride to York in June 2023. Find out what activities are offered by the Dijon group and York for Europe. Hear from Huntington School’s students and staff about their recent exchange visits to both cities.

The session will introduce information on York’s twinning with Dijon and Münster and involve residents as well as representatives of three civic organisations: York Münster Twinning and York Dijon Twinning Associations and York for Europe.
