The British-Hungarian Society and the Liszt Institute London are welcoming you for an evening with HE Iain Lindsay OBE, former UK Ambassador

Time & Location
18 Sept 2023, 18:00 – 19:30
London, 17-19 Cockspur St, St. James's, London SW1Y 5BL, UK
About the Event
When HE Iain Lindsay arrived in Budapest to begin his posting as Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Hungary, he stole the heart of a country by reciting poetry – in the notoriously hard-to-learn Hungarian language – on the Day of Hungarian Poetry.
At the invitation of the British-Hungarian Society he is now returning to a Hungarian stage in London to talk about his experiences in Hungary and his love for poetry – more importantly, Hungarian poetry.
Joining him is a wide variety of performers to give a well-rounded introduction to the diversity of Hungarian culture. Poetry recitation by the Angliai Magyar Versmondók Egyesülete (Hungarian Poetry Reading Association of England), jazz piano by Tomi Balogh, Hungarian operetta songs and many more.
The event starts at 6 PM, the doors will open at 5.30 pm.
