About the Event
"Are you an East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) migrant living in Scotland, deeply concerned about your well-being and working conditions? Or are you eager to understand and address the daily challenges our community faces and actively contribute to positive change? This workshop is designed to empower you with insights into the issues impacting ESEA migrant workers in Scotland and explore collective strategies for support.
East and Southeast Asians living in Scotland form a vibrant and indispensable community within the Scottish labor force. Unfortunately, hostile environments, encompassing policies and working conditions, disproportionately affect those with migrant backgrounds—especially in precarious sectors like domestic and healthcare work. These challenges extend beyond mere work conditions, impacting mental health and overall quality of life.
ESA Scotland is dedicated to engaging the ESEA community, providing a platform for empowerment, and amplifying the voices of those who need it the most. This workshop is not just an informational session; it's a call to action. Regardless of whether you are a migrant or non-migrant individual, you will gain valuable insights into the realities our ESEA migrant community faces, and together, we can actively work towards creating meaningful change."
