Refugee Week 2024

Creatives, community organisers, sports groups, media platforms, educators, local authorities, businesses and more – everyone is invited to come together in this online conference dedicated to getting us ready for Refugee Week (17-23rd June).

We'll hear from inspiring speakers and artists as we delve into this year's theme "Our Home". Together, we'll explore what it means to practice our solidarity and make a more welcoming, safe and sustainable home for all.

Plus, we'll talk through the nuts and bolts of hosting your own Refugee Week event as well as share this year's resources and exciting new campaigns.

In the afternoon, you are invited to join optional workshops on Changing the Narrative and Digital Storytelling.

We'll wrap up the day with an optional one-hour IdeasLab & Network, where you can connect with the Refugee Week team, share plans and workshop ideas.

Full programme of speakers to be announced soon

Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

Through a programme of arts, cultural, sports and educational events alongside media and creative campaigns, Refugee Week enables people from different backgrounds to connect across communities, as well as encouraging understanding of why people are displaced, and the challenges they face when seeking safety.

Refugee Week is a platform for people who have sought safety in the UK to share their experiences, perspectives and creative work on their own terms. Everyone is invited to take part, wherever they are. Participating organisations range from mainstream national institutions to grassroots groups, including schools, faith groups, councils, libraries, arts organisations, universities, refugee organisations and local activist networks and more.

Refugee Week’s vision is for refugees and asylum seekers to be able to live safely within inclusive and resilient communities, where they can continue to make a valuable contribution.
