About the Event

We are delighted to invite you to celebrate Europe Day with us at Europe House in the heart of London.  Join us for an uplifting session exploring how creativity and storytelling help us navigate our journeys and how our journeys shape us.

The event will include a showcase of entries to our Stories of Hope photography open call and the winning entry will be announced on the night. It is an opportunity to enjoy the exhibition, meet the creative minds behind the art, engage with their work and let the creative sparks fly!

We will also hear from the authors of the Stories for Change project and explore the concepts they worked with when creating their artwork as well as the journey they have been on since starting this project.

The event will run as a part of the Europe Day Festival and will offer an opportunity to celebrate our shared European identity and experience various European cultures.

Who is the event for?

This event is open to EU communities, organisations supporting or working with EU communities and in the wider migration sector as well as friends, allies and supporters who are interested in connecting with other EU citizens in the UK and anyone engaged in creative projects.

You are welcome if you are an EU citizen, a person with EU connections, volunteer, staff or board member or trustee of an organisation and you are interested in finding Common Ground, coming together to highlight positive contributions that EU citizens make to UK society and fostering good relations between EU and British citizens .

Please register your attendance. We will be serving refreshments and the venue is accessible but please do let us know if you have specific access or dietary requirements. We will be able to assist with travel expenses so please indicate if you’d like to avail of that and we’ll get in touch with the details & expenses policy.

Common Ground Project Background

Common Ground is a  project delivered in partnership by Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, the3million  and British Future supporting communities of EU citizens in the UK to thrive. Co-funded by the European Union, our mission is to inspire more empowered EU communities in the UK by building connections, celebrating our shared European identity and sharing knowledge, with the aim of building a more positive relationship between the UK and the EU.

We have an ambitious goal to foster a positive relationship between the EU and the UK by means of celebrating our shared experiences and shared values and identifying opportunities for collaborations based on those values as well as by increasing the influence of EU organisations in the UK through advocacy.

Common Ground is a platform for any person or organisation interested in working across divides to empower EU citizens to thrive in the UK and join a network of like minded people sharing knowledge, good practice and identifying opportunities for collective actions to advocate for our rights.
