About the Event

Music has always been a marker of identity, helping to create shared emotions and collective

identities. In this talk, Timo Obergöker,Professor of French and Francophone Cultural

Studies at the University of Chester, will take theaudience on an audiovisual tour through

contemporary French music. He will use this journey as a means to explore today’s France

and ultimately how notions of Frenchness have changed over time.

Do join us for an entertaining and ultimately important exploration of Britain’s nearest

continental neighbour.

Tickets: Free and open to all to attend (university and public)

Date: Tuesday 16th January, 6pm-7.15pm (tea and coffee available)

Lecture Hall (CRV 139) is one flight up the main staircase or use elevator lift.
